Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the DEEF.AI website and services at deef.ai (the "Service"), operated by an individual based in Shanghai, China ("DEEF.AI", "we", "us"). By accessing or using the Service you agree to these Terms.

1. What the Service is

DEEF.AI helps assess whether an image is AI-generated or manipulated. It offers (a) a free, browser-based forensic engine, and (b) a paid cloud "Neural Deep Scan". The Service is screening-grade decision support: it outputs a calibrated probability, not a binary certainty or legal determination. You are solely responsible for any decision you make based on the results.

2. Free scans and paid credits

Free scans run entirely in your browser. Paid Neural Deep Scans consume "credits" purchased in packs. One credit = one deep scan. Credits do not expire. There is no subscription.

3. License keys (your wallet)

When you purchase credits we issue a license key. The license key is a bearer credential — it is your wallet, and your credit balance is tied to it on our servers. Anyone who has the key can use its balance, so keep it confidential. You may use the same key across devices by entering it. If you lose your key, you can recover it via the email used at purchase. Credits already consumed are non-refundable; see our Refund Policy.

4. Payments and Merchant of Record

Payments are processed by our payment provider Creem, acting as the Merchant of Record. Creem is the seller of record for transactions, and handles billing, applicable taxes, and receipts. Prices are shown in US dollars unless stated otherwise. We do not receive or store your full card details.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to: use the Service for any unlawful purpose; submit images you do not have the right to analyze; use results to harass, defame, or harm any person; attempt to resell, scrape, overload, or reverse-engineer the Service or API; or circumvent usage limits. You must be at least the age of majority in your jurisdiction to purchase.

6. No warranty

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". Detection is probabilistic and may produce false positives or false negatives. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including accuracy, merchantability, and fitness for a particular purpose.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, DEEF.AI will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any decision made in reliance on the results. Our total aggregate liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the three (3) months preceding the claim.

8. Intellectual property

We own all rights in the Service, including its software, models, and branding. You retain all rights in the images you submit; we claim no ownership over them.

9. Changes and termination

We may update the Service or these Terms. Material changes will be reflected by the effective date above. We may suspend access for breach of these Terms. You may stop using the Service at any time.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Shanghai, China, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
